Why you can trust the math

The AI never does the arithmetic.

Ask any AI to do your math and it'll confidently make numbers up — that's just what happens when you ask a language model to calculate. So Buyancy doesn't let it. Your verdict comes from real, honest calculations, not a guess — the AI's only job is explaining it to you in plain English.

01

Understand your question

Buyancy reads what you're asking — how much, and whether it's a one-time buy or something recurring. That's all. It doesn't touch your balances yet.

02

Do the real math

Your balance gets projected 45 days forward against your recurring bills, recurring investing and saving, paychecks, and savings goals. This is where your verdict actually comes from — no AI involved.

03

Explain it in plain English

The result gets turned into an answer you can actually understand. The AI explains the math behind it — it never makes any of it up.

"Can I book $1,450 flights to Tokyo?"

You can buy this without overdrawing, but it takes your balance below your $1,200 cushion: down to $860.00 on Oct 29.

How it’s paidOn your Visa ••4821: you buy it on Oct 8, and the card is paid from checking on Oct 29.
Lowest projected balance$860 · Oct 29
Your cushion$1,200
Paydays countedOct 15 · Oct 30
InsteadPaying with your Amex ••1002 would stay above your cushion (it comes out of checking on Nov 14).
↳ Every number above comes from the calculation, never from the AI.
And your data isn’t left lying around

Your data is locked. A leak would show nothing.*

Most money apps keep your goals, bills and history in a database they can read. If that database leaks, so does your financial life. Buyancy seals what it saves with a key that only you hold.*

01

Locked as soon as it’s saved

Your goals, bills, saved questions and answers are sealed the moment they’re stored, so what sits in our database is unreadable without a key only you hold.

02

A leak shows nothing

If our database were stolen, the thief would get locked data and no key. Your key never leaves your device.

03

Nothing sits around

We don’t store your bank transactions or balances. We fetch them when you ask a question, work out the answer, and let them go.

Where Buyancy fits

Plenty of apps answer “can I afford this?” Few show their working.

Buyancy’s answer is deterministic: same numbers in, same answer out, with the working shown.

Budget and envelope trackers

Good atPlanning every dollar, and seeing where it went.

Stops atThey look back, and you keep them up by hand. At the checkout they say nothing.

Daily-number apps

Good atOne simple number for what is safe to spend today.

Stops atOften just a number, not a verdict on this purchase, and a credit card is usually just a balance.

AI chat assistants

Good atAnswering any money question in plain words.

Stops atThe answer is generated, so it can change from one asking to the next, with little working to check.

Couples budgeting apps

Good atSharing a budget, or splitting a joint account into yours, mine and ours.

Stops atMany are built around one joint account, not a yes or no on a purchase across separate accounts.

Buyancy

A verdict on this purchase: fits, dips below your cushion, or would overdraw.

Deterministic: worked out in code from your recurring bills, investing and paydays. The AI only words it.

Each card on its real due date, and two people’s separate accounts in one answer.

Household

  • You keep your own accounts; your partner’s are read-only to you.

How to pay

How you pay is part of the answer.

Checking pays out today. A card pays out on its due date. Buyancy checks both and shows which keeps you above your cushion.
