YesWaitHoldchecked against your bills, investing, paydays and cards
Ask any AI to do your math and it'll confidently make numbers up — that's just what happens when you ask a language model to calculate. So Buyancy doesn't let it. Your verdict comes from real, honest calculations, not a guess — the AI's only job is explaining it to you in plain English.
Buyancy reads what you're asking — how much, and whether it's a one-time buy or something recurring. That's all. It doesn't touch your balances yet.
Your balance gets projected 45 days forward against your recurring bills, recurring investing and saving, paychecks, and savings goals. This is where your verdict actually comes from — no AI involved.
The result gets turned into an answer you can actually understand. The AI explains the math behind it — it never makes any of it up.
You can buy this without overdrawing, but it takes your balance below your $1,200 cushion: down to $860.00 on Oct 29.
Most money apps keep your goals, bills and history in a database they can read. If that database leaks, so does your financial life. Buyancy seals what it saves with a key that only you hold.*
Your goals, bills, saved questions and answers are sealed the moment they’re stored, so what sits in our database is unreadable without a key only you hold.
If our database were stolen, the thief would get locked data and no key. Your key never leaves your device.
We don’t store your bank transactions or balances. We fetch them when you ask a question, work out the answer, and let them go.
Buyancy’s answer is deterministic: same numbers in, same answer out, with the working shown.
Good atPlanning every dollar, and seeing where it went.
Stops atThey look back, and you keep them up by hand. At the checkout they say nothing.
Good atOne simple number for what is safe to spend today.
Stops atOften just a number, not a verdict on this purchase, and a credit card is usually just a balance.
Good atAnswering any money question in plain words.
Stops atThe answer is generated, so it can change from one asking to the next, with little working to check.
Good atSharing a budget, or splitting a joint account into yours, mine and ours.
Stops atMany are built around one joint account, not a yes or no on a purchase across separate accounts.
A verdict on this purchase: fits, dips below your cushion, or would overdraw.
Deterministic: worked out in code from your recurring bills, investing and paydays. The AI only words it.
Each card on its real due date, and two people’s separate accounts in one answer.
Buyancy combines both of your accounts, bills and paydays into one answer.
Checking pays out today. A card pays out on its due date. Buyancy checks both and shows which keeps you above your cushion.
| A daily number | An AI chat | The checked answer Buyancy | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you get | One number: what is safe to spend today or this month | A written answer about your money | A verdict on this purchase, with the dates behind it |
| How the answer is made | A simple sum of balance minus bills | Generated by an AI model, so it can differ each time | Deterministic: calculated in code from your recurring bills, investing, paydays and balances. The AI only words it |
| Can you check it? | Most show a number, not how it was reached | Most show a paragraph, not the working | Every answer shows the card, the charge date, the date it leaves checking, and the lowest balance |
| Credit cards | Often just a balance | Often not modelled | Each card on its statement and due date, with the best one to use |
| Two people | Built for one person, or one shared account | Sees one person’s accounts | Two people’s separate accounts, bills and paydays, one answer for both |
| Who can read what’s saved | Usually the company, and anyone who breaches it | Often your chats are kept in a form the company can read | Your goals, bills and answers are sealed with a key only you hold |
| If the database leaks | Your accounts, bills and spending can be exposed | Your questions and numbers can be exposed | The thief gets locked data and no key |
| Canadian banks | Often US banks only | Often US banks only | Major Canadian banks and investment platforms |
